Ipswich Girls’ and Junior Grammar School’s heritage-listed campus is situated in the heart of Ipswich overlooking the Bremer River. The athletics oval includes a running track, long jump pit, discus and shot-put circles, as well as training areas for javelin and high jump. Additional facilities include a full-size athletics track and field, cricket pitch, netball courts, hockey, and touch football field as well as an onsite five-lane, 25m heated pool which is used for squad training and swimming lessons. For tennis and volleyball players who compete on different surfaces and at various times, the school has plexi-pave tennis courts (with lights) and a synthetic grass volleyball court.
The licenced, ground-level, university-style lecture theatre, the Katherine C Carter Lecture Theatre, is ideal for seminars, award presentations and conferences. The licenced Senior School Breezeway is an open, outdoor space boasting spectacular views over the City of Ipswich and the Bremer River. It is the perfect spot for welcome drinks and morning or afternoon teas.
The Mervyn Patterson Assembly Hall is a heritage listed, high-capacity hall designed by renowned architect Karl Langer. It comes equipped with top of the range audio/visual technology, projectors and screens. It has a purpose-built function room which can host 150 guests seated on round tables or 200 standing guests, equipped with a commercial kitchen, bar area and liquor licence.
